Great artists: Paulo Flores

Paulo FloresPaulo Flores is an Angolan musician born in 1972
He was born in Luanda, although part of his childhood was spent in Lisbon.

Most of his songs are written in Portuguese and Kimbundo. His music often deals with social and political issues, such as the difficulties of life in Angola, war and corruption.

The French film “La Grande Ourse” includes some of its songs in its soundtrack. In April 2007 he performed at the first Luanda Trienale and on July 4,2008 at a concert at the Coqueiros Stadium attended by nearly 25,000 people, Paulo Flores is Luanda’s ambassador of peace, so his tickets cannot exceed a limit of $5 per person in this city.

On February 28,2011, TAP Portugal began broadcasting a campaign with the slogan “TAP With Arms Wide Open” (TAP of Braços Abertos). Paulo Flores, along with Brazilian singer Roberta de Sá and Portuguese singer Mariza, starred in a music video playing this song.
