Welcome to the Azembora and Helsinki Dance Central grand opening at our new location in Sörnäinen. 

Day program:

Saturday morning we have rented out the studio and there will be an Urban Kiz special organized by Lucien Noten:
Azembora customers can get a 9 EUR discount on the full pass, message or talk to us at the school and we will add you to the guest list for the discount.

In the afternoon we will have free introduction classes:

14:30 – Kizomba first steps 
15:30 – Brazilian Zouk (Rio Style)
16:30 – Urban Kiz introduction
17:30 – Lambazouk

These are beginner level classes to give you a taste of what our schools have to offer, everyone is welcome. 

In the evening at 8PM there will be a pre-party class with Lucien Noten, this is an intermediate/advanced level class. 

The party itself starts at 9PM. We will have a Kizomba and a Zouk room. 

Kizomba room DJs: Dj Smoothcat and DJ Azemborgers
Brazilian Zouk room DJs: Dj Freddy and DJ Lambadeira.

We will provide snacks and non-alcoholic drinks but feel free to bring your own. Our venue is a dance school, only soft soled indoor shoes or socks will be allowed on the dance floor.

Theo will be with us for the weekend with classes on both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday night will be party night!

Theodore Wolashie Awadzi aka Theo is the founder of Dance-Drive. He was the UK IDO Kizomba Champion 2012 as well as the 2012 UKA salsa champion held in Bolton. His excellent teaching style has earned him recognition across the world. His excellent teaching style and fun workshops have resulted in extensive travel around the world, teaching at congresses and festivals. In between travels he is based in Oslo, Norway where he has established the Kizomba scene over the past year.

With roots from the West African Country of Ghana, Theo’s dancing love is not limited to Kizomba, but extends to Semba, Afro-house, Kuduro and Tarraxinha! He focuses on connection between partners, footwork, body motion and Ginga, partner work and styling.
Aside from teaching, Theo is also a sought after Kizomba DJ.

Roots of Kizomba & Acrobatic Urban Kiz Intensive course 4 times by 1h30min. 

Finally I am back! 
On February, me and dance partner gonna give 4 time by 90minutes intensive course, separated on two parts. 

1st part 45min. – Roots of Kizomba
Steps Technique to help you better to feel the dance floor and to not get tired, the right posture to help you to have a better following/leading, basic combinations to enjoy more your dancing, musicality to understand better your dancing… 
2nd part 45min. – Acrobatic movements. 
Different acrobatic moves/combinations which you can use at social dance, correct technique, Urban Kiz moves and styling.

Just to remind: Marco Zanella, started to dance Kizomba and did learn it in Cabo Verde in 2000, he was the 1st teacher in Finland and he is the only one original Urban Kiz teacher in whole Finland till now, he did start to teach in Helsinki 2010 and all around Finland.

We present your instructor: Audi Mpk

Born in the states, grew up in France and the US, dancing african and carribean dances Audi quickly fell in love with Kizomba but leans more towards Urban Kiz. 
Learned from instructors such as Enah, Albir, Laurent/Adeline, Gwanny/Kizzy, Chamalo, Eddy Vents/Lucia, Tboy/Ashby, Steve/Maureen and several others, his unique musicality and dance approach has ranked Audi as one of top Urban Kiz instructors in the Kizomba world in terms of dance and pédagogy. He placed as well 2nd in the 2017 Olympiads of Kizomba in Paris. 

Now located in Dallas, Texas Audi’s dedication to spread the knowledge and his love for Kizomba is undeniable. Participating in and creating multiple workshops across the states, Audi branded himself as Audi Mpk which stands for (Musicality Personality Kizomba). His curriculum focuses on understanding body movement, musical interprétation, and adding personality to the dance from mastering the techniques of leading and following.

Bon Bon originally from Rotterdam started his Kizomba dance career in 2014. Throughout this time he has been traveling around Europe to discover different styles and steps to create his own unique style. What he loves about Kizomba the most is that it allows him to express himself. With each dance he has a story to tell.

He has been teaching since 2015 and has been travelling and performing at various festivals. Bon Bon has a very unique and challenging style which we are exited to get introduced to. 

This special weekend will offer 6 hours of class split between Saturday and Sunday. There will be a party on Saturday night.

Everyone is welcome. single class drop in 12 EUR. Azembora 10/20 turn cards can be used and Azembora contract customers can attend these classes at 5 EUR per hour or 30 EUR for the full event.

We are very happy to announce João & Giedre special.

We will have three hours of class on Saturday by these top level international artists.

Azembora drop in 12 EUR per hour (36 EUR for the three hours).
Azembora 10 and 20 turn card turns can also be used. 
Azembora contract customers can get access to the three hours of class for 15 EUR (5 EUR per hour)

João & Giedre teach together for 4 years. They live in Frankfurt (Germany) and own kizomba school called “Kizomba Fabrik”, where they give weekly classes and organize parties. What is more, they give monthly classes in Stockholm (Sweden) and weekend workshops in different kizomba festivals all around the world. Together they organize 5 international kizomba events: 4 of them take place in Portugal and 1 in London (UK).
Their classes are known as very detailed and highly technical, they focus on traditional kizomba and semba, pay a lot of attention to the Angolan culture, introduce retro music to the classes, teach not only kizomba, semba, tarraxinha, but also they give classes of old school kizomba flow, leading and following techniques, musicality. They created modern class of kizomba with tango influence, which got one of their most popular classes at the moment.

João Rocha
He was born in Lisbon, Portugal. Salsa was his 1st love, in 1999, Kizomba came into his life in 2007. Having inspirations such as Master Petchu, Kwenda Lima and Afrolatin Connection he has developed his own style!
In May 2010 he was invited to perform Semba at the prestigious “Africadançar”. In October 2010 he moved to London to teach and contribute to the growing Kizomba scene in the UK. In February 2012 he moved to Stockholm and created 1st Kizomba Scene there under the name of “Kizombafeber” along with his current dancing partner Giedre Lapaite. The same year he started practicing dj-ing and was called DJ “Rock”. In 2015 he moved to Frankfurt.
He has been teaching and performing at several events around the world in more than 30 countries including Major Countries in Europe, USA, Russia, Brasil (to name a few) and organizing his own Renowned Festival in Lisbon “LIKE Festival” since 2010, “Toma-Toma” in Bratislava with Alvaro Gustavo since 2013 and “LOVE LIKE LONDON” with “Mambo City” since 2014. His new international projects of 2016: festival in Lisbon – “Djs Delight” and “Kizomba Sunrise” in Algarve.

Giedre Lapaite 
Lithuanian girl with Ballroom, LA and Cuban Salsa background. She tried her first steps of Kizomba in Vilnius, Lithuania, got very interested in dance and culture and started to travel to Portugal in order become a good Kizomba dancer. 
In 2011 she met Joao Rocha, who has given her love to Semba and invited her to teach together. In 2012 Giedre deepened her knowledge of Angola’s history and culture with Master Petchu and Vanessa. In the same year she moved to Stockholm, Sweden, started to give regular kizomba, semba classes and organize kizomba events together with Joao Rocha. In 2015 she moved to Frankfurt.
She has already taught in numerous kizomba festivals in Norway, Sweden, Finland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Belarus, Russia, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Canada. 
In 2013 she has joined organization team of prestigious kizomba festival in Lisbon– “LIKE”, in 2014 – “LOVE LIKE LONDON” festival in London, in 2015 – “DJ’S Delight” and “Kizomba Sunrise”, which are going to take place in 2016.

Here is another special weekend you really cannot miss! For the first time in Finland: Oncle Kani and Black Cherri will be with us for three hours of class on Saturday and again on Sunday. 

Standard Azembora prices apply: 
Single class drop in 12 EUR – total event price 6 hours: 72 EUR
Azembora 10/20 turn cards turns can be used for these classes.
Azembora contract customers can buy the entire weekend of classes (6 hours) for 30 EUR (5 EUR per class) 

Oncle Kani : Dancer and teacher born in Congo Kinshasa with Congolese father and Angolan mother, Kani has begun to dance Ndombolo and Afrohouse. Due to preparation of engineering graduation, Kani was back in the dance as a dancer of Kizomba. He was a member of school and flores Do Semba. Winner of the biggest semba competition in Europa (Certeza) with Nefertiti, Kani with his new dance partner BlackCherry teach Kizomba, semba, afro house, Ndombolo.

BlackCherry: Dancer and teacher. She began to dance when she was child. After many years of dance, she share now her experiences of African culture and dance besides her partner Ocnle Kani with whom she learn to teach.
