Nelson Freitas is a singer, producer and representative of GhettoZouk music (including artists such as Chelsy Shantel and William Araujo).
He was born in Cape Verde, and grew up in the Netherlands.
His music is a mix of Cape Verdean Zouk and R’ n’ B. He began as a singer of the group Quatro (IV).
The band released their first title in the compilation “MOBASS presents…”,”Hoje em Dia” and has released three albums:”4 VôZ” in 1998 (including their first single “Si cre bo”), then under the name of Quatro Plus (Quatro +) and accompanied by Edson Freitas:”Bem Consché” in 2002 (with several singles that became hits like “Kazanga”.
This album has sold more than 25,000 copies worldwide; it was platinum in Angola.
In 2008, his duo with Chelsy Shantel (within the Kizomba Brasil project), Boa Sorte was one of Kizomba’s biggest hits of the year.
In 2010 his second album,”My Life”was released, which included the collaborations of William Araujo, McKnowledje, Sanches Laisa and Anselmo Ralph.
